Studies on the Storage of Apples (2)

Abstract
|
|
|
The effects of the plant growth regulator and the polymeric membrane forming materials on the keeping quality and chemical of apples were investigated. The results obtained are as follows :
1. Fruit rot, physiological disorder, and loss in body weight were lowered in OED, OED-G and CMC treatments as compared to the control.
2. The effects of gibberellin on apples seemed not to be recognized.
3. Shrivellnig was occurred in the chemgical treatments as well as control during storage.
4. Loss of chemical content during the storage period was lower in the OED, OED-G and CMC lots.
5. The best storage effect was found at 0.2 per cent of CMC treatment among the various polymeric membrane forming material.
